Uniform & Dress Code Policy

CTA’s Uniform & Dress Code Policy seeks to foster a positive environment for learning - one in which students dress modestly and respectfully while showing the spirit of our school. All students (grades 1-12) are required to wear an official school uniform every day. Students should assume that dress code is in force every day unless notified otherwise by teachers and administrators.   Some clothing items may only be purchased from the Official CTA Uniform Providers while other garments may be purchased elsewhere. Please read carefully. Official Uniform Providers:

  • Quality Stitch Embroidery (QSE) will apply logo to garments that meet the Uniform Policy.  Cost is $8.50 per item.  Items must be dropped off to CTA for delivery to QSE.

Girls
  1. Tops: Collared blouse or polo in navy, white or light blue, short- or long-sleeved with CTA logo.  Must be totally plain without another company's logo.
  2. Bottoms: Pants or skirts.  Pants should be chino-style in navy or khaki. Skirts must be a minimum of 1” below knee in navy, khaki or approved plaid (Clear Blue Plaid purchased from Land's End). No denim pants or skirts and no cargo pants.
  3. Dresses: CTA logo tunic/shirt dresses or khaki, navy or approved plaid jumper for grades K-6 only. (plain collared shirt polo may be worn under logo jumper)
  4. Cold weather options: Leggings and tights may be worn under skirts and dresses, and there are no specific color requirements.
  5. Outerwear:  “Outerwear” refers to any garment worn over the uniform shirt, not referring to a winter coat. Outerwear could be zip, button, or pullover.  Uniform collared tops are required under all outerwear.
  6. Zip or button up outerwear does not need to have a logo but must be plain in either black, navy blue, white, or gray, with no writing.
  7. All pullover outerwear must have the logo on them. Pullover outerwear could be black, navy blue, gray, white, or light blue. No company logos.
  8. Hot weather:  Navy or Khaki knee-length shorts may worn in grades K-6 only. No athletic shorts are permitted.
Boys
  1. Tops: Collared button down or polo in navy, white or light blue, short- or long-sleeved with CTA logo. Must be totally plain without another company's logo.

  6. Hot weather: Navy or Khaki knee-length shorts may worn in grades K-6 only. No athletic shorts are permitted.
  7. Other:  Kippot are required.  Tzitzit are encouraged.
Kindergarten:  Students in kindergarten are encouraged to wear the school uniform but are not required in order to promote the comfort of our youngest students as they transition to formal schooling.  No pajamas, sweat pants, track pants or jeans will be allowed. General Guidelines:  All clothing should be the appropriate size, clean and in good condition (i.e:  no tight, baggy or ripped clothing). School or other team uniforms may not be worn during the school day, unless permitted in gym class. Inappropriate clothing includes:  Athletic clothing such as sweatpants or track pants, pajamas, jeans or jean skirts and other denim clothing, hats/caps.  There should be no words or pictures on clothing.  Necklines on tops should be appropriate for school. Flip flops, slides and high heels are not to be worn for safety reasons.  Spirit-wear items will be available, but not all spirit-wear conforms to the uniform policy.
